HamJam 2011 Report

HamJam was a success -- the speakers were excellent, attendance set a new record, and the gathering provided attendees with an opportunity to reacquaint themselves with friends from the Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee clubs represented at the event.

We'd especially like to thank our speakers, who went the extra mile to make themselves available for us.  Their presentations were very informative, and we observed many attendees taking advantage of the opportunity to meet and chat with them.

Raffle prizes provided with the support of our sponsors were won by the following attendees:

We would like to recognize the magnificent efforts by HamJam 2011 co-chairs Jim W4QO and Chuck AE4CW.  Their efforts, and the volunteers they enlisted, made this year's event the best HamJam yet.  Next time you see Jim or Chuck, or hear them on the air, thank them for their efforts.  Thanks W4QO and AE4CW!!

Two albums of photos from the event are available -- click here to see the first album (photos by W4OO and K4YJJ), and here to see the second album containing photos by Steve KS4KJ.

HamJam 2011 is almost here!

NFARL and the SEDXC will again this year host HamJam.  The date has been set for October 22, and the event will be held in the 600 seat theater at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.

As in past years, the event is open to all hams and admission is FREE.

This year we have 3 speakers:

Kay, N3KN

Eric, WA6HHQ

Tom, W8JI

A number of wonderful prizes -- including a Kenwood TS-590S HF rig, an Elecraft KX3, a Kenwood TH-D72A, and more shown below -- will be raffled to help the sponsoring organizations offset expenses and hopefully have some funds left over for their scholarship funds.  Raffle tickets are available for a $5 donation (5 for $20).  Raffle rules are available on the Raffle Rules page.

Raffle tickets will be on sale beginning at 8:00am Saturday
in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center lobby,
and again at the mid-meeting break.

Mark Saturday, October 22nd on your calendar and be ready for a fun morning of visiting with your fellow hams, listening to and interacting with our speakers, and the potential to win one of our raffle prizes.

Please talk this up -- invite your ham and non-ham friends to this unique event.
It promises to be one of the southeast's ham radio highlights of the year!!!
